"That which is damaged in relationship must also be healed within

relationship; character can only truly be transformed through relationship,

not through solitary practice" (Stephen Cope, 2000:144)

ABOUT ME

My name is Diego Avila and I am a Counselling Psychotherapist. I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and fully uphold their Ethical Framework.

I work using a Relational Integrative Model, which puts the emphasis on the way that we, as humans, relate to each other, both inside and outside of the therapy room. I draw from elements of Psychodynamic as well as Client Centred theory models in order to facilitate the therapeutic work. In addition, I may also use elements from other approaches such as Attachment Theory, Transactional Analysis and Jungian symbolism and dream exploration.

I am also a Clinical Supervisor as well as a Lecturer in Counselling, currently working in Adult Further Education.
